4th Street East & Brazil Street Hillside Residential Projects

In August and September of 2017, the City of Sonoma Planning Commission approved separate applications for the development of three residences on three lots in northeast Sonoma (at Fourth Street East and Brazil Street) having a zoning designation of Hillside Residential. Those approvals were subsequently appealed to the City Council.

At the Special City Council Meeting on April 9, 2018, the City Council voted 3-2  to uphold the appeals and deny the approvals of the proposed hillside homes due to insufficient environmental review and noncompliance with the General Plan, Hillside Ordinance and other municipal code.
