The City of Sonoma is proud to announce that Bill Lynch will be honored as the next recipient of the Celebrate Sonoma recognition during the City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 17, at 6:00 PM.
A lifelong Sonoman, Bill Lynch is a distinguished journalist, columnist, and author who served as editor and publisher of the Sonoma Index-Tribune and co-owned the paper with his brother Jim. His writing, including My Sonoma – Valley of the Moon, has preserved the stories, history, and people of our community for decades. He was also named Sonoma’s 2023 Honorary Alcalde in recognition of his many years of service and leadership.
Started in 2019, Celebrate Sonoma recognizes community members who “make up the fabric of Sonoma.” Honorees are acknowledged at a City Council meeting with a certificate and a day in their honor.
