The City of Sonoma is pleased to announce the promotions of two dedicated employees, recognizing their outstanding service and commitment to the community.

Ryan Kodama – Accounting Manager

After a successful internal recruitment, Ryan Kodama has been promoted to Accounting Manager in the Finance Department. Ryan first joined the City in August 2018 as an Accounting Technician and was promoted to Accountant in 2019 – providing seven years of service to the community.

In his new role, Ryan will receive general direction from the Finance Director and will supervise assigned professional and technical staff. He will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating accounting activities including financial reporting systems and related audits, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll functions. Ryan will also coordinate accounting activities with other divisions and departments and provide highly complex staff assistance to the Finance Director.

Outside of work, Ryan and his wife are devoted rescue dog parents.

Terrence Erickson – Public Works Operations Manager

Following a competitive recruitment process open to both internal and external candidates, Terrence Erickson has been selected as the City’s new Public Works Operations Manager.

Terrance began his career with the City in April 2021 as a Maintenance Worker in the Water Division and was promoted to Water Division Supervisor in January 2023. His leadership, expertise, and dedication have now led to his promotion to Public Works Operations Manager in September 2025.

The Public Works Operations Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the City’s water and streets divisions, as well as managing the maintenance of City buildings and facilities. This position leads the largest team in the City and ensures safe, efficient, and professional operations that support a healthy and vibrant community.

When not at work, Terrence enjoys traveling to his son’s youth sports events.

These promotions reflect the City of Sonoma’s commitment to recognizing and advancing dedicated staff who exemplify teamwork, leadership, and service to the community. Please join us in congratulating Ryan and Terrence on their well-deserved achievements!
