City of Sonoma Selects Internal Candidates for Supervisor Positions in Parks and Water Divisions

The City of Sonoma is pleased to announce the appointment of two internal candidates to new supervisory roles within the Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments. These promotions reflect the City’s commitment to recognizing talent, experience, and leadership from within our organization.

Tom Arrington Appointed Parks Division Supervisor

Tom Arrington has been appointed Supervisor for the City’s newly established Parks and Recreation Department. In this role, Tom will lead the Parks Division crew in maintaining and enhancing City parks, trails, and cemeteries, while also supporting the many community activities and events that take place in these public spaces throughout the year.

Tom joined the City of Sonoma in 2009 as a Maintenance Worker in the Parks Division within the Public Works Department. Over the years, he has developed extensive institutional knowledge and brings valuable experience as a certified arborist to his new leadership role.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys fishing, riding off-road bikes, and spending time with family and friends. The City is excited to see Tom continue his career growth and bring his experience and leadership to this new role in service to the community.

MacLean Meyn Named Water Division Supervisor

The City of Sonoma has also appointed MacLean Meyn as Water Division Supervisor within the Public Works Department. MacLean joined the Water Division in 2022 as a Maintenance Worker and has quickly become a key contributor to the team.

During his tenure, MacLean played an instrumental role in implementing the Citywide Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, which was completed earlier this year and has enhanced customer service and water conservation resources. As Water Division Supervisor, MacLean will oversee the Water Division crew and ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of the City’s water delivery systems.

A graduate of Sonoma Valley High School with deep family roots in the community, MacLean brings local knowledge and a strong commitment to quality customer service to his new position. The City is pleased to support his continued professional growth and leadership development.
