Citywide Slurry Seal Project Update

At their meeting of August 19th, 2019, City Council adopted the specifications for the 2019 citywide slurry seal project (project) and rejected all bids (resolution #36-2019) following a report that the bids for the proposed project came in much higher than expected.

Staff recommended Council reject all bids in order to combine funds budgeted for the project in Fiscal Year 2019/2020 with funds from Fiscal Year 2020/2021 in order to bid a larger slurry seal project in 2020, as overall costs for a larger project are expected to be lower.

The bid opening for the project is expected to take place in the Summer of 2020.
