Description: Maxwell Farms Regional Park features soccer and baseball fields, tennis and volleyball courts, accessible playgrounds, multiple picnic sites and nature trails winding through meadows and woods.

The park includes 40 acres of riparian backcountry with 2.5 miles of trails shaded by bay and oak trees and access to Sonoma Creek.

The park’s trails are level, offering an easy stroll through mature trees, meadows and the remnants of a historic orchard. The Maxwell family farmed the property for 100 years until the late 1960s, planting plum and apricot trees that still produce fruit.

Three Meadows Trail and Back Meadow Trail parallel Sonoma Creek. This creek is important habitat for Coho salmon, and runs from the Mayacamas Mountains to the San Pablo Bay.

Maxwell Farms also includes MacDougald Skateboard Park, which was built through local grants and donations and is managed by Regional Parks. The Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley is also located within the park and is managed by the Boys & Girls Club.

The park is open from 7 a.m. until sunset. Leashed dogs are allowed. Parking is $7 or free for Regional Parks members.
