Description: The Sonoma Plein Air Foundation is a local non-profit, all-volunteer organization which has donated over $2 million dollars in funding to Sonoma Valley schools and non-profits to support creativity development and arts in education programs for children and youth.

The Sonoma Plein Air Festival is held annually in September, bringing over 30 juried, nationally-acclaimed artists to Sonoma for a week to paint throughout the region, then show and sell their work to benefit youth arts education in Sonoma Valley. See website for dates and times.

Festival Highlights:
QUICK DRAW at Sonoma’s Tuesday Night Market
The SPAF artists set up easels around the Sonoma Plaza on Farmer’s Market Tuesday and have 90 minutes to complete a painting, frame and display it for immediate sale. Visitors watch the artists paint and can acquire their favorite on the spot!

ART SHOW & SALE (Saturday)
This event is a celebration of outdoor painting. It is held on the Sonoma Plaza, with artist’s demonstrations, live music and free, fun art activities for all ages. All artwork from the week-long festival of artists’ painting “en plein air” are on display and available for purchase.
