Authors on the Plaza 2022
Authors on the Plaza is free event open to the Sonoma Community.
This family-friendly free event promises you will laugh, be moved, gain insight, and be entertained while you relax on the lawn under the towering trees of the eight-acre historic Sonoma Plaza.
Bring a picnic or purchase food and beverages from the many restaurants that border the square. Don’t forget a blanket or beach chairs. A small number of folding chairs will be available on a first-come-first-served basis for those who sitting on the ground is too difficult.
Though this is a free event, registering will help us manage the event efficiently and determine how many volunteers and support staff will be required to make it as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so PLEASE REGISTER. All registered will be entered into a drawing for free books!
Prevailing COVID protocols will be followed. No single-use plastic bottles are allowed on the Sonoma Plaza.
Sonoma residents Cathy and Chuck Williamson have graciously underwritten the cost of providing this event to our community at no charge. The Sonoma Valley Authors Festival is honored to have their support.
Readers’ Books will have copies of the presenting authors’ books available for sale.
Authors on the Plaza is a free, family-friendly special event for the Sonoma community hosted by the Sonoma Valley Authors Festival. Humorist Dave Barry will kick off; Author Amor Towles will discuss The Lincoln Highway; Scientist with a wry wit, Mary Roach, will speak.
This event is part of the annual Sonoma Valley Authors Festival, the three-day-weekend lecture series held Aug 27-29 at the Sonoma Mission Inn (purchase passes at our website) and Students Day at local schools on Friday, August 27 (not open to the public.)
