Music in Place and MusicNomad are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for youth-led bands, an epic “Battle of the Bands” competition culminating in a live event from 11 am to 7 pm on May 17, 2025 at the Grinstead Amphitheater at the Sonoma Plaza. The competition is open to school kids grades 6-12, who are 18 and younger, who have independent “garage bands.” Bands from all over Northern California have applied. The finalist bands are:

Cash prizes will be awarded: $1000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place. The three winning bands will also be given the opportunity to perform at the Sonoma Farmers’ Market, on a Tuesday, May 20.
