Public comment meeting for Sonoma County Hazard Mitigation Plan—November 6 at 5:30 PM, Sonoma Valley Fire Station #1.

The City of Sonoma, Sonoma Valley Fire District, and the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management invite community members to a public meeting to learn about and provide input on the 2026 Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) Update.

The MJHMP identifies potential natural and human-caused hazards—such as wildfires, floods, and earthquakes—and outlines strategies to reduce long-term risks to people and property. This collaborative plan includes participation from local cities, special districts, and the County of Sonoma.

At this meeting, attendees will:

  • Learn about the hazard mitigation planning process and its importance for community resilience.
  • Review key findings and proposed strategies from the draft plan.
  • Provide input to help shape the final plan before adoption.

The draft plan will be available for public review and comment from October 20 through November 10, 2025.
