City staff and the Planning Commission General Plan Ad Hoc Committee invite the community to participate in an upcoming General Plan Update meeting focused on potential land use changes for the Sebastiani Winery property. Meeting details:
Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Vintage House, 264 1st St E, Sonoma
The purpose of this community meeting is to gain community input on preferred development types and land uses that will inform the recommendations in the General Plan and later the Zoning Code.
What to Expect
This meeting will be interactive and activity-focused:
- A short presentation to provide background on the general plan process and context for the group activity.
- A small-group table exercises where participants will map and identify future land uses for the area.
Can’t Attend in Person?
- The presentation portion of the meeting will be recorded and posted on the General Plan Update website after the meeting (not live streamed).
- The interactive exercises will also be posted on the General Plan Update website after the meeting, and community members are encouraged to complete and submit them if they are unable to attend in person.
Important Context
- The discussion centers on a potential land use changes as part of the General Plan Update.
- There are no development proposals or project plans being presented or considered at this meeting.
- Any future development would be subject to the City’s standard review process, including environmental review and additional public meetings and opportunities for public comment.
Input from this exercise will help Planning Commission and City Council understand community priorities as they evaluate potential land-use options for the General Plan.
