12/2/2020 – See the latest update on the Altamira Apartments – Affordable Housing Applications.

The Sonoma County Housing Authority will accept applications from Nov. 16 through Dec. 18 for new Project-Based Voucher Waitlists tied to one, two and three-bedroom units at Altamira Family Apartments in Sonoma, CA. Applicants who are selected from the waitlist will have an opportunity to apply for rental assistance for a specific unit at the specified property.

One-bedroom waitlists are for households consisting of one to four persons. Two bedroom waitlists are for households consisting of two to six persons. Three bedroom waitlists are for households consisting of three to eight persons.

Those interested in applying to the Altamira Family Apartments Project Based Voucher waitlists, must submit an application during this application period. A separate application is required for each waitlist.

The Housing Authority will conduct a random lottery to determine applicants’ placement on each waitlist. The one-bedroom waitlists will be limited to no more than 300 applicants, the two- bedroom waitlist will be limited to no more than 150 applicants and the three-bedroom waitlist will be limited to no more than 100 applicants.

If you are a person with a disability who requires a disability-related accommodation to access any programs, services or activities provided by the Sonoma County Community Development Commission or the Sonoma County Housing Authority, contact (707) 565-7500/TDD (707) 565- 7555. Translation services will be made available upon request.

The Housing Authority reminds the public that fees-for-service or credit card numbers are never collected when applying to Housing Choice Voucher or Project Based Voucher Waitlists. It is not uncommon for scammers to create fraudulent websites that look authentic: their names may say “Section 8” and they might show an Equal Housing Opportunity logo. Such sites will take the applicant’s money and sell their personal information.

If you find a website that seems fraudulent, please file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and email the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at Hotline@HUDOIG.gov. The only legitimate website to apply to the Sonoma County Housing Authority Project Based Voucher waitlists for the Altamira Family Apartments is www.waitlistcheck.com/CA085.
