Public Works Water Supervisor


The City of Sonoma is seeking a highly qualified, dynamic, and enthusiastic professional to serve as its Water Supervisor. This key leadership role in the Public Works Department is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the City’s water treatment and distribution system operations—including water mains, wells, pumping stations, storage tanks, hydrants, meters, and the SCADA system. The Water Supervisor leads a dedicated team of four staff members and plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality water to the community.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in water system operations, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to foster collaboration both within the organization and with the public.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $92,459 – $112,384 DOE
  • Excellent benefits, including CalPERS retirement, generous medical, dental and vision coverage, City-paid life and disability insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and alternative work schedules (such as 9/80).
