The deadline to apply for the City of Sonoma’s Utility Box Art Wrap Pilot Program is fast approaching. Artists and artist teams have until Monday, July 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM to submit their proposals.

This public art initiative—part of the City’s broader Public Art Program—will feature original artwork printed on vinyl and installed on utility boxes throughout Sonoma. The goal is to celebrate our community’s creativity and culture while adding beauty and interest to everyday public infrastructure.

Selected artists will receive a $500 stipend per approved design, and the City will manage professional printing and installation. The program is open to artists of all ages, with preference given to those who live or work in Sonoma Valley.

What to submit:

  • A one-page Letter of Interest

  • 4 to 10 images (including at least 4 original designs proposed specifically for this project)

  • An image list (title, medium, date, brief description)

  • An artist resume (individual or team)

Submissions should be emailed to stracy@sonomacity.org by the deadline.
