A reminder that the Sonoma Valley Public Meeting for the Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) Update is happening tomorrow, Thursday, November 6, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Sonoma Valley Fire Station #1 (630 2nd St W, Sonoma).

Hosted by the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management, in partnership with the City of Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Fire District, this meeting will include an overview of the draft plan and local hazard-specific mitigation strategies for the Sonoma Valley area.

Refreshments and Spanish interpretation will be provided.

The MJHMP is a countywide effort involving 22 jurisdictions, including both the City of Sonoma and Sonoma Valley Fire District. The plan identifies local risks from natural and human-caused hazards—such as wildfires, floods, and earthquakes—and outlines strategies to reduce future disaster impacts.

Public input is vital to ensure the plan reflects our community’s needs and priorities. The draft plan is available for review and public comment through November 2025.
