Special City Council Meeting on Public Safety, Parks and Facilities, and Homelessness Services/Programs – February 11th

A special meeting of Sonoma City Council on public safety, parks and facilities, and homelessness services/programs and potential Council direction on next steps will be held on Tuesday, February 11th at 7:30 pm. The agenda is available on our CivicWeb Portal.

This Community Meeting will provide an opportunity for updates, input and discussion of issues related to the recent assault and arrest along the Sonoma Bike Path.

Information will be provided on the history and current status of homeless services provided, including the Safe Parking Program; current laws and court cases that limit enforcement available to cities and impact the provision of homeless services; and current state of homelessness in the Sonoma County and efforts/initiatives underway by Sonoma County.

Opportunities for public feedback and input will occur. The City Council may discuss and provide direction on next steps including short- term, medium-term and long-term ideas or initiatives.
