For the first time ever, arts organizations across Sonoma Valley have joined together to keep our community inspired and connected through creating and sharing art during the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place order. The new Sonoma Valley Arts Task Force has worked collaboratively to launch heARTofSONOMA, a community-wide art project to encourage community spirit and inclusiveness through easy and fun community action.
Every other week, a fun prompt or theme will be given by a different arts organization. Simply use prompts as inspiration to create art from materials on hand. Prompts will incorporate a variety of creative and performing arts including (but not limited to!) dance, writing, theater, music, sculpture and painting. All are encouraged to participate, you don’t have to be an artist to join in the fun!
Current Prompt: Signs of Life
The first heARTofSONOMA prompt is to create a “Sign of Life.” Make a sign, display it in front of your residence or storefront and take a picture to share. Post an image or recording on the Heart of Sonoma Facebook Page; and/or post it on social media with the hashtag #heartofsonoma for the community to enjoy.
