Encroachment Permit and Terms and Conditions Parklet and Sidewalk Extensions
Sonoma businesses can now apply for a temporary parklet to make use of parking spaces on the City street adjacent to the business. The Encroachment Permit, Terms and Conditions and Insurance documentation are City requirements for all businesses looking to expand their operational space by utilizing traditional parking spaces. This type of use allows business expansion opportunities for restaurants and tasting rooms that have severe restrictions on indoor seating and/or limited outdoor expansion on their own site due to Covid 19 restrictions. The investment in renting or constructing parklets or sidewalk extensions is significant and will require review and approval of the City of Sonoma to ensure safety, aesthetics and other public issues.
