At their September 18, 2025, meeting, the City of Sonoma Planning Commission approved the Montaldo Apartments Project along with the Conditions of Approval and the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) for the Montaldo Apartments project. These Conditions of Approval and MMRP documents outline the requirements the project must follow prior to and during construction, andas well as ongoing operation, including measures to address potential environmental impacts. As part of the project approval, the existing single-family home on the project site will be demolished and the large oak tree along the project site’s frontage will be preserved and protected during construction.
The Commission did not make any changes to the Conditions of Approval or the MMRP from what was originally included in the public hearing materials. The appeal period has now closed.
What happens next? The project entitlements are valid for two years, and the applicant’s next step will be to apply for demolition and building permits. At this time, no construction start date has been provided.
