Planning Commission to Consider Montaldo Apartments Project September 18

The City of Sonoma Planning Commission will consider the proposed Montaldo Apartments Project at its meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in the City Council Chambers, 177 First St. West.

The project, located at 19320 Sonoma Highway, proposes the demolition of an existing single-family home and construction of a 50-unit multi-family rental development, including 13 affordable units. The Planning Commission will review whether to certify the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR), adopt a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program, and take action on associated permits including Design Review, a Density Bonus, a Demolition Permit, and a Parcel Merger.

Public Participation

The Planning Commission meets regularly at the City Council Chambers, 177 First St. West. Meetings are broadcast on Channel 27 and available for live streaming on the City’s CivicWeb portal. An agenda detailing the items to be discussed will be posted at least 72 hours in advance.

Community members are encouraged to participate:

  • Attend in person and provide comments during the designated public comment period.

  • Submit comments online through the public comment form on the CivicWeb portal. Written comments submitted in advance will be uploaded to the public correspondence folder for review prior to the meeting but will not be read aloud.
