Current Recruitment(s):  

The City of Sonoma is currently seeking applications for the following positions on City of Sonoma or Regional commissions, committees, and boards:

City Commissions and Committees

  • Design Review & Historic Preservation Commission
    • Two at-large members*
    • One direct appointment

NOTE:  Per SMC  2.60.020, preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated special interest, competence, experience or knowledge in the following areas: historic preservation, cultural geography, or other historic preservation-related discipline; architecture and architectural history; prehistoric and historic archaeology; urban planning; landscape architecture; or related disciplines.

  • Parks, Recreation & Open Space Commission
    • One at-large member*
    • One direct appointment
  • Traffic Safety Committee
    • One at-large member*

* At-Large members are regular voting members of the Commissions and are appointed by a majority vote of the City Council. One At-Large member shall be a resident of Sonoma Valley, as defined in the Council Commissions & Committee Appointment Policy.

Regional Appointments

  • Sonoma Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency Advisory Committee
    • One Representative
      • Advisory committee to the Sonoma Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency Board of Directors
  • Sonoma Valley Community Advisory Commission
    • One Representative  & One Alternate
      • A joint advisory agency with representation from the County of Sonoma and the City of Sonoma to share responsibility for local planning in the Sonoma Valley. Members must be qualified elector in the City of Sonoma.  The representative serves a four-year term.
