Cemetery Volunteer Workday Sign Up

Join the City of Sonoma in caring for our community’s historic cemeteries through a series of volunteer workdays. Each of our three cemeteries—Valley Cemetery, Mountain Cemetery, and Veterans’ Cemetery—will host a dedicated Saturday workday this season. Volunteers are invited to sign up for one or multiple dates.

Workday activities may include weeding, landscaping, border and plot restoration, and other important maintenance tasks that help preserve these cherished spaces for generations to come.

You can choose a full 6-hour shift (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) or one of two 4-hour shifts (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.). No prior experience is needed—just bring your energy, gloves if you have them, and a willingness to help.

Together, we can honor the memory of those laid to rest and ensure our cemeteries remain welcoming, peaceful places for all who visit.
