Climate Action Commission

The Climate Action Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to reducing greenhouse gasses from the city's municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors and on adapting to climate change within the city’s jurisdiction.

The Climate Action Commission is comprised of seven voting members, and one non-voting youth member. Five of the members are directly appointed by a City Council Member and must be City residents. The remaining two are at-large and at least one must be a Sonoma Valley resident. Find a list of current members on the City's CivicWeb Portal.

NOTE: Applicants who have a professional background, expertise, or education in one or more of the following areas may be appointed to the Climate Action Commission: climate action, environmental science, energy efficiency, alternative transportation, environmental justice/equity, sustainable business, waste minimization, environmental education, or a related field.
