Historic Preservation Commission
The goal of the Historic Preservation Commission (previously Design Review & Historic Preservation Commission) is to protect the architectural heritage of Sonoma and promote excellence in town design.
The Historic Preservation Commission is comprised of seven members, five of which must be City residents. See a current list of Historic Preservation Commission Members.
It is desired that members of the commission have demonstrated special interest, competence, experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Historic preservation, cultural geography, or other historic preservation-related discipline
- Architecture and architectural history
- Prehistoric and historic archaeology
- Urban planning
- Landscape architecture; or related disciplines.
The Historic Preservation Commission meets at 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Community Meeting Room, 177 First Street West, Sonoma. See upcoming meetings, agendas and minutes on our CivicWeb Portal.
