The Finance Department is responsible for the following functions:

Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Utility Billing
Transient Occupancy Tax
Business Licenses
Payroll
General Ledger
Cash Management
Investments
Budgets and Financial Reporting

The Finance Department assists the City Manager in developing, monitoring and administering the City's operating and capital budget and coordinating long-range financial planning.  The Department handles all accounting and financial duties for the City, the Sonoma Successor Agency (former Sonoma Community Development Agency) and the Valley of the Moon Fire Protection District under a separate contractual agreement.
