State and local waste sorting requirements for self haulers include:
Required to sort/separate organics from recyclables and trash.
Must haul organic materials only to a facility permitted to manage organics (composter, anaerobic digester, etc.).
Maintain records of the amount of organics delivered to permitted facilities and include delivery receipts, weight tickets, and the amount of material in cubic yards or tons.
